Estimated GPA Requirements
You will need very good grades in high school to get into Syracuse University. The average high school GPA of the admitted freshman class at Syracuse University was 3.6 on the 4.0 scale indicating that primarily B+ students are accepted and ultimately attend. Even with a competitive GPA, admission to Syracuse University will be challenging as the school denies more applicants than it admits.
Some great advice from one of our teachers...
Name: Mr. Harper

What was your major? Broadcast and Digital Journalism
What’s the highest degree you’ve obtained? Masters in Broadcast and Digital Journalism, Syracuse University
How did you decide to go to the school that you did? Had family in Louisiana, parents wanted me to go to HBCU
Did you apply for a lot of scholarships? No, I should have, but I earned a basketball scholarship instead.
What did you do to prepare for college? Honors program that focused in International Business
What advice do you have for our students when thinking about colleges? Have a list of 4 to 5 schools, 1 reach school, 2 you might get into and 2 you know you qualify for.
What was your college life like besides school work? Student athlete so it was very structured, no real summers off. Due to summer school required of all basketball players, only a few days off for Christmas break too but I enjoyed it and graduated in 4 years.
